Thinking about mandorlas (almond shaped aureolas, as it goes, dacrocyte drains of marrow that for Hildegard of Bingen, symbolised the cosmos) and perspective diagrams this morning, the ways in which patterns and circles intersect and cancel each other out, about what happens inside a wave, or the ways in which a brain spins sound in order to learn about itself. In conjunct states of mind (surely anything but conjunct), perhaps everything is an in between space…..
There's a picture by Edwin Babbit (a spiral-walker if ever there was) think about a lot with this in mind, 'Propagation and Reflection of Liquid Waves', an insideness and outsideness that attempts to depict more than one concentric trajectory, incorporating myriad concentric and eccentric alignments to the point that direction seems almost myopic, folded back in disbelief.
